Private Education
(Exemption) (Amendment)
Order 2023
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 41 of the Private Education Act 2009, the Minister for Education makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order is the Private Education (Exemption) (Amendment) Order 2023 and comes into operation on 1 August 2023.
Amendment of paragraph 4
2.  In the Private Education (Exemption) Order 2013 (G.N. No. S 136/2013) (called in this Order the principal Order), in paragraph 4, after sub-paragraph (1), insert —
(2)  Every registered private education institution specified in Part VII of the Schedule shall be exempted from section 16(1) of the Act in respect of any course that —
(a)leads to a certificate, degree, diploma or other qualification, that is awarded or ratified, by the University of the Arts Singapore Ltd.; or
(b)is supported by a grant-in-aid or subvention from the Government.”.
Amendment of paragraph 5
3.  In the principal Order, in paragraph 5, after sub-paragraph (1), insert —
(2)  Every registered private education institution specified in Part VII of the Schedule shall be exempted from section 17(1)(b) and (c) of the Act in respect of any course that —
(a)leads to a certificate, degree, diploma or other qualification, that is awarded or ratified, by the University of the Arts Singapore Ltd.; or
(b)is supported by a grant-in-aid or subvention from the Government.”.
Amendment of Schedule
4.  In the principal Order, in the Schedule, after Part VI, insert —
Part VII
1.LASALLE College of the Arts.
2.Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.”.
