| The following Act was passed by Parliament on 18th January 1996 and assented to by the President on 30th January 1996:— |
| Local Treasury Bills (Amendment) Act 1996 |

| An act to amend the Local Treasury Bills Act (Chapter 167 of the 1988 Revised Edition). |
| Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows: |
| Short title and commencement |
| 1. This Act may be cited as the Local Treasury (Amendment) Act 1996 and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint. |
| Amendment of section 2 |
2. Section 2 of the Local Treasury Bills Act is amended by inserting, immediately after the definition of “depositor”, the following definition:

| Amendment of sections 4, 5 and 7 |
| 3. Sections 4, 5 and 7 of the Local Treasury Bills Act are amended by deleting the words “Consolidated Fund” wherever they appear therein and substituting in each case the words “Government Securities Fund”. |
| Saving |
| 4. This Act shall not apply to any Treasury Bill or book-entry Treasury Bill issued in Singapore under the Local Treasury Bills Act before the commencement of this Act. |
