Notification 2023

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 47 of the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Act 2000, the Minister for Law makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification is the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Act 2000 (Amendment of Second Schedule) Notification 2023 and comes into operation on 28 July 2023.

Amendment of Second Schedule

2. In the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Act 2000, in the Second Schedule —

(a)

after item 111, delete “Maintenance of Religious Harmony Act (Cap. 167A)”;

(b)

delete items 111A and 111B;

(c)

after item 154, insert —

“

Maintenance of Religious Harmony Act 1990

154A.

Section 17E(1), (2), (3) or (4)

Urging violence on religious grounds or against religious group, etc.

154B.

Section 17F(1), (2), (3) or (4)

Inciting hatred, ill‑will, etc.

”; and

(d)

after item 465, insert —

“

Penal Code 1871 —
Offence included with effect from 28 July 2023

465A.

Section 424B

Fraud by false representation, non‑disclosure or abuse of position

”.
