(Amendment) Rules 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 114(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1961, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Road Traffic (Expressway Traffic) (Amendment) Rules 2024 and come into operation on 1 March 2024.

Amendment of rule 2

2. In the Road Traffic (Expressway Traffic) Rules (R 23), in rule 2(1), after the definition of “expressway tunnel”, insert —

“ “recumbent device”, “three‑wheeled pedal cycle” and “trishaw” have the meanings given by rule 2 of the Road Traffic (Bicycles, Three‑wheeled Pedal Cycles, Trishaws and Recumbent Devices — Construction and Use) Rules 2024 (G.N. No. S 157/2024);”.

Amendment of rule 14

3. In the Road Traffic (Expressway Traffic) Rules, in rule 14(1) —

(a)	in sub‑paragraph (k), replace “tricycle” with “three‑wheeled pedal cycle, recumbent device”; and
(b)	in sub‑paragraph (l), after “bicycle”, insert “or trishaw”.
