Private Security Industry
(Private Investigation and Security Agencies)
(Amendment) Regulations 2022
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 39 of the Private Security Industry Act 2007, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Private Security Industry (Private Investigation and Security Agencies) (Amendment) Regulations 2022 and come into operation on 1 June 2022.
Deletion of regulation 16
2.  Delete regulation 16 of the Private Security Industry (Private Investigation and Security Agencies) Regulations 2009 (G.N. No. S 167/2009) (called in these Regulations the principal Regulations).
Amendment of regulation 18
3.  In regulation 18 of the principal Regulations —
(a)in paragraph (1)(d), insert “and” at the end;
(b)in paragraph (1), delete sub-paragraph (e);
(c)in paragraph (2)(e), insert “and” at the end; and
(d)in paragraph (2), delete sub-paragraph (f).
Amendment of regulation 20
4.  In regulation 20 of the principal Regulations, replace paragraph (2) with —
(2)  A licensed private investigator must, when carrying out his functions as a private investigator —
(a)carry his Identification Card with him; and
(b)produce the Identification Card whenever requested to do so by any person.
(2A)  A licensed security officer must, when carrying out his functions as a security officer —
(a)carry his Identification Card with him; and
(b)either wear the Identification Card on his person in a manner where the particulars on the Identification Card are clearly exposed to view or, if instructed by his employer not to wear the Identification Card for operational reasons, produce the Identification Card whenever requested to do so by any person.”.
Amendment of regulation 25
5.  In regulation 25(a) of the principal Regulations, delete “16,”.
Amendment of regulation 27
6.  In regulation 27(a) of the principal Regulations —
(a)delete “16(1),”; and
(b)after “20(2)”, insert “, (2A)”.
