(Amendment) Rules 2022

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10A(4) of the Road Traffic Act 1961, the Minister for Transport makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Quota System) (Amendment) Rules 2022 and come into operation on 4 May 2022.

Amendment of rule 3

2. In rule 3(1) of the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Quota System) Rules (R 31) —

(a)

in sub‑paragraph (a)(vii), after “3rd February 2014”, insert “but before 4 May 2022”;

(b)

in sub‑paragraph (a), after sub‑paragraph (vii), insert —

“(viia)

electric cars having a maximum power output not exceeding 110 kilowatts, where the certificate of entitlement is issued on or after 4 May 2022;”;

(c)

in sub‑paragraph (b)(v), after “3rd February 2014”, insert “but before 4 May 2022”; and

(d)

in sub‑paragraph (b), after sub‑paragraph (v), insert —

“(va)

electric cars having a maximum power output exceeding 110 kilowatts, where the certificate of entitlement is issued on or after 4 May 2022;”.
