(Tariffs for Water)
(Amendment) Regulations 2024
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 72 of the Public Utilities Act 2001, the Public Utilities Board, with the approval of the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Public Utilities (Tariffs for Water) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 and come into operation on 1 April 2024.
Amendment of regulation 3
2.  In the Public Utilities (Tariffs for Water) Regulations (Rg 7) (called in these regulations the principal Regulations), in regulation 3(3)(b) —
(a)in sub-paragraph (ii), replace “Public Utilities (Waterborne Tax) Order 2013 (G.N. No. S 43/2013)” with “Public Utilities (Waterborne Tax) Order 2024 (G.N. No. S 254/2024)”; and
(b)in sub-paragraph (iii), replace “Statutory Boards (Taxable Services) Order (O 1)” with “Public Utilities (Water Conservation Tax) Order 2024 (G.N. No. S 255/2024)”.
Amendment of regulation 4
3.  In the principal Regulations, in regulation 4 —
(a)in paragraph (1)(b), replace “service apartment” with “serviced apartment”; and
(b)in paragraph (2), replace “Technopreneur Home Office Scheme by the Economic Development Board” with “Home Office Scheme by the Urban Redevelopment Authority or the Housing and Development Board,”.
Amendment of Schedule
4.  In the principal Regulations, in the Schedule —
(a)in paragraphs 1(a) and (b)(i) and 2, replace “$1.21” with “$1.29”;
(b)in paragraph 1(b)(ii), replace “$1.52” with “$1.63”; and
(c)in paragraph 3, replace “$1.92” with “$2.03”.
Transitional provision
5.—(1)  Despite regulation 4, the tariff payable to the Board for water supplied to any premises in the relevant billing month for the premises is the sum of the following:
(a)such tariff in the Schedule as in force immediately before 1 April 2024 for water that is supplied, or fairly or reasonably estimated to have been supplied, to the premises on the days in March 2024;
(b)such tariff in the Schedule as in force on 1 April 2024 for water that is supplied, or fairly or reasonably estimated to have been supplied, to the premises on the days in April 2024.
(2)  In this regulation, “relevant billing month”, in relation to any premises, means the period of a month that comprises days in March 2024 and April 2024, and in respect of which a bill for the water supplied to those premises is rendered by the Board.
