(Amendment) Rules 2023

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 111 of the Road Traffic Act 1961, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Amendment) Rules 2023 and come into operation on 28 April 2023.

Replacement of rule 23

2. In the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Rules (R 14), replace rule 23 with —

“Approved fares to be displayed

23. A holder of a taxi licence must display, inside each taxi he owns —

(a)	a table of the fares approved by the Council, in a manner and position that the Registrar or an authorised officer may direct; or
(b)	a link to an online location (such as a Quick Response code) that contains a table of the fares approved by the Council, if the Registrar approves the link to be displayed in the taxi.”.

Amendment of rule 24

3. In the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Rules, in rule 24, replace paragraphs (3) and (4) with —

“(3) A person who makes an entry in the register must do so —

(a)	in ink; or
(b)	electronically, if the Registrar approves the register to be kept electronically.

(4) The Registrar or an authorised officer may require the licensee —

(a)	if the entries in the register are made in ink — to produce the register at the time and place that the Registrar or authorised officer (as the case may be) may appoint; or
(b)	if the entries in the register are made electronically — to produce a physical copy of the register at the time and place that the Registrar or authorised officer (as the case may be) may appoint, or to send an electronic copy of the register at the time and in the manner that the Registrar or authorised officer (as the case may be) may determine.”.
