Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Quota System) (Amendment No. 4) Rules 2001

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10A(4) of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Communications and Information Technology hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Quota System) (Amendment No. 4) Rules 2001 and shall come into operation on 2nd July 2001.

Amendment of rule 20

2. Rule 20 of the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Quota System) Rules (R 31) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “a certificate” in the 3rd line of paragraph (2) and substituting the words “a notice”;

(b)

by deleting the words “new certificate of entitlement” in the 3rd and 4th lines of paragraph (9) and substituting the word “notice”; and

(c)

by deleting paragraph (10) and substituting the following paragraph:

“(10) The notices issued under paragraph (9) shall replace the notice referred to in paragraph (2).”.

Amendment of rule 24A

3. Rule 24A(3) of the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Quota System) Rules is amended by deleting the word “certificate” where it first appears in the 4th line and substituting the word “notice”.
