Public Entertainments and Meetings
(Exemptions) (Amendment) Order 2015

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 16A of the Public Entertainments and Meetings Act, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Public Entertainments and Meetings (Exemptions) (Amendment) Order 2015 and, with the exception of paragraph 2(a), comes into operation on 6 August 2015.

(2) Paragraph 2(a) is deemed to have come into operation on 1 January 2015.

Amendment of paragraph 3

2. Paragraph 3 of the Public Entertainments and Meetings (Exemptions) Order (O 1) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “(not being arts entertainment)” in sub-paragraphs (1)(c) and (2)(a);

(b)

by deleting the words “in any place” in sub-paragraph (1) and substituting the words “which is not organised in celebration of the Seventh Month Festival of the Chinese Lunar calendar, in any place”;

(c)

by deleting sub-paragraph (A) of sub-paragraph (1)(viii); and

(d)

by inserting, immediately after sub-paragraph (1), the following sub‑paragraph:

“

Seventh Month Festival

(1A) Any public entertainment which is organised in celebration of the Seventh Month Festival of the Chinese Lunar calendar, in any place to which the public or any class of the public has access, whether gratuitously or otherwise, is exempted from the Act.

”.
