(International Registration)
(Amendment) Rules 2021
In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 64A and 74 of the Registered Designs Act, the Minister for Law, after consulting with the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore, makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules are the Registered Designs (International Registration) (Amendment) Rules 2021 and come into operation on 1 October 2021.
Amendment of rule 7
2.  Rule 7 of the Registered Designs (International Registration) Rules 2005 (G.N. No. S 177/2005) is amended —
(a)by deleting the word “On” in paragraph (2) and substituting the words “Subject to paragraph (3A), on”; and
(b)by inserting, immediately after paragraph (3), the following paragraphs:
(3A)  Subject to paragraph (3B), the Registrar must refuse to accept an application for registration of the relevant particulars of a notifiable transaction if the requirements mentioned in paragraph (3) are not complied with.
(3B)  The Registrar may require the applicant to provide such other document, instrument or information in support of the application within such time as the Registrar may specify.”.
