(Amendment) Rules 2023

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 90(3) of the Moneylenders Act 2008, the Minister for Law makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Moneylenders (Composition of Offences) (Amendment) Rules 2023 and are deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Amendment of rule 2

2. In the Moneylenders (Composition of Offences) Rules 2009 (G.N. No. S 74/2009), in rule 2 —

(a)

replace “section 34(1)” with “section 90(1)”; and

(b)

replace paragraph (a) with —

“(a)

any offence under section 11(12) or (13), 13(12), 14(12), 15(5), 16(5), 17(15), 20(2), 30(2), 31(2), 32(5), 33(2)(b) (read with section 33(3)(a)), 34(7), 35(4), 36(4), 38(7) or (8), 39(11) or (12), 40(2), 41(2), 45(3), 60(3), 61(6), 62(7)(b) or (8)(b), 64(2)(a), 66(8), 67(3), 68(2), 69(4), 70(2), 71(4), 72(2), 73(4), 74(5), 75(4), 76(4), 77(4), 78(8), 79(3), 80(6), 82(11) or (12), 83(2) or 84(2) of the Act;”.
