This function enables you to compare changes made to a selected provision in an in force legislation against the last formal version of the same provision (formal version refers to the Revised Edition of the legislation).
To activate the Compare Changes function:
(a) Tick the box in the TOC panel next to the provision that you wish to compare, and click the Get Provisions button at the bottom of the TOC panel.
(b) Click on Timeline in the sticky panel at the top of the page to display the timeline of the provision.
(c) Click on the relevant Compare Changes link appearing at the bottom of the Revised Editions of the legislation. This will display the Comparison View page for the provision.
The comparison panels are arranged side-by-side for ease of comparison. The left panel displays the last Revised Edition (also referred to as the formal consolidation) version of the provision, and the right panel shows the later version of the provision that is being compared against the Revised Edition version.
The dropdown date list box at the top of the right panel allows you to select the specific version of the provision you are looking for since the legislation was last revised. The dropdown list contains the dates on which the provision was amended during the period between the last Revised Edition of the legislation and the next Revised Edition of the legislation.
For amendments made after 2011, the Compare Changes function highlights the text that has been deleted (in most cases) or inserted. To see the highlighted text, tick the box next to Show Differences in the sticky panel at the top of the page.
To exit from the Comparison View, click on the Exit Comparison View button.
