Citation |
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Registration of United Kingdom Patents Regulations. |

Forms |
3. The forms herein referred to are the forms contained in the Second Schedule, and the forms shall be used in all cases to which they are applicable and shall be modified as directed by the Registrar of Patents to meet other cases. |
Application for registration through agent |
4. An application for registration of a United Kingdom Patent and all other communications between an applicant and the Registrar of Patents, and between the registered proprietor of a patent and the Registrar of Patents, may be made by or through an agent. Any such applicant or proprietor may, or if the applicant does not reside or carry on business in Singapore shall, appoint an agent to represent him in the matter of the patent by signing and sending to the Registrar of Patents an authority in writing to that effect in the Form A or in such other form as the Registrar of Patents may think sufficient. |
Application |
5. An application for registration of a United Kingdom Patent shall be signed by the applicant for registration or by his agent. The application shall be in the Form B or in such other form as the Registrar of Patents shall think sufficient. |
Certificate of registration |
6. A certificate of registration of a United Kingdom Patent shall be in the Form C, and the issue of every such certificate shall forthwith be notified by the Registrar of Patents in the Gazette. |
Application for registration of assignment or transmission |
7. An application by a person who becomes entitled by assignment, transmission or other operation of law to the privileges and rights conferred by a certificate of registration or to any interest therein for the entry in the Register provided for by section 11 of the Act shall be in the Form D and shall contain the name, address and description of the person claiming to be entitled, and shall be accompanied by the original or a certified copy, and a copy, of every document on which the applicant’s title depends. |

8. When the Registrar of Patents is satisfied as to the applicant’s title he shall cause the applicant’s right, title or interest to be entered on the Register with such particulars as he may consider necessary of the instrument under which the right, title or interest was acquired. |
Declaration under section 9 of Act |
9. Where an application for a declaration under section 9 of the Act has been made to the High Court, and an order thereon has been made by the Court, the person in whose favour the order was made shall forthwith serve on the Registrar of Patents a certified copy of the order. An entry on the Register may thereupon be made by the Registrar of Patents setting forth the effect of the order. |
Extension of term of patent in United Kingdom |
10. Notification of the extension of the term of a patent in the United Kingdom shall be accompanied by a certificate of the Comptroller-General of the United Kingdom Patent Office giving full particulars of the extension and such further evidence, if any, as the Registrar of Patents may require. |

11. The Registrar, on being satisfied as to the fact of such extension, shall record in the Register the date to which the term of the patent in the United Kingdom has been extended and such further particulars contained in the certificate of the Comptroller-General as he thinks fit. |
