Women’s Charter
(Registration of Marriages) (Amendment)
Rules 2012

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 180(1) of the Women’s Charter, MG (NS) Chan Chun Sing, Minister of State, charged with the responsibility of the Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports, hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Women’s Charter (Registration of Marriages) (Amendment) Rules 2012 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 2nd March 2012.

New rule 17

2. The Women’s Charter (Registration of Marriages) Rules (R 3) are amended by inserting, immediately after rule 16, the following rule:

“Reduction, remission or refund of fees

17. The Registrar of Marriages may, in his discretion, reduce, remit or refund wholly or in part, in any particular case, any fee paid or payable under these Rules.”.
