Environmental Protection and
Management (Vehicular Emissions)
(Amendment) Regulations 2021

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 12(5) and 77(1) of the Environmental Protection and Management Act, the National Environment Agency, with the approval of the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions) (Amendment) Regulations 2021 and come into operation on 1 January 2022.

Amendment of First Schedule

2. Paragraph 2 of the First Schedule to the Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations (Rg 6) is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “, with the following modification: the references to “6,0 × 10¹¹ ” under the sub‑column titled “PI” of the column titled “Number of particles (PN)” are to be read as references to “6,0 × 10¹²” ” in paragraphs (a) and (b) of the definition of “Euro 6 PM and PN limits”;
(b)	by deleting the words “, with the following modification: the references to “6,0 × 10¹¹ ” under the sub-column titled “PI” of the column titled “Number of particles (PN)” are to be read as references to “6,0 × 10¹²” ” in paragraphs (a) and (b) of the definition of “Euro 6 PN limit”; and
(c)	by deleting the words “(with the following modification: the references to “6,0 × 10¹¹ ” under the sub-column titled “PI” of the column titled “Number of particles (PN)” in Regulation (EC) No. 715/2007, Annex I, Table 2, as amended by Commission Regulation (EU) No. 459/2012, are to be read as references to “6,0 × 10¹²”)” in paragraphs (a) and (b) of the definition of “Euro 6 standard”.
