Public Entertainments and Meetings (Art Exhibitions) (Exemption) Order 2001

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 15 of the Public Entertainment and Meetings Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Public Entertainments and Meetings (Art Exhibitions) (Exemption) Order 2001 and shall come into operation on 1st March 2001.

Exemption

2. Any art exhibition organised or sponsored by any organisation, association or society specified in the First Schedule, and held in any place or premises or part thereof set out in the Second Schedule, is exempted from the Act if the following conditions are complied with:

(a)	the exhibition is of still objects such as paintings, sculptures, flower arrangements, or of other forms of representation by still objects; and
(b)	the public or any class of the public has gratuitous access to the place or premises or part thereof where the exhibition is held.

Revocation

3. The Public Entertainments (Exemptions) (Art Exhibitions) (Consolidation) Order (O 2) is revoked.
