Slaughter-houses and Meat Processing Factories Act
(Chapter 307)
Meat Processing Factories (Control and Licensing) (Amendment) Rules 1999
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the Slaughter-houses and Meat Processing Factories Act, the Minister for National Development hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Meat Processing Factories (Control and Licensing) (Amendment) Rules 1999 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1999.
Amendment of Schedule
2.  The Schedule to the Meat Processing Factories (Control and Licensing) Rules (R 2) is amended —
(a)by deleting sub-paragraph (vi) of item 3 (f) and substituting the following sub-paragraph:
(vi) Chemical test for freshness indicators or colouring matter or preservatives or Vitamin C or anti-microbial residues by HPLC method
$55 per analysis
”;
(b)by deleting sub-paragraph (xii) of item 3 (f);
(c)by inserting, immediately after sub-paragraph (xiii) of item 3 (f), the following sub-paragraph:
(xiv) Toxin detection using laboratory animals
$190 per test
”; and
(d)by deleting paragraph (l) of item 3 and substituting the following paragraph:
(l) Testing of anti-microbial drug residues by Enzyme Immuno-Assay (EIA) Screening or Microbial Inhibition Assay (MIA) Screening
$35 per test
