Public Order
(Prohibited Areas) (Amendment)
Order 2016
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 12 of the Public Order Act, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order is the Public Order (Prohibited Areas) (Amendment) Order 2016 and comes into operation on 19 March 2016.
Amendment of paragraph 3
2.  Paragraph 3 of the Public Order (Prohibited Areas) Order 2009 (G.N. No. S 490/2009) is amended by inserting, immediately after sub-paragraph (c), the following sub-paragraph:
(ca)any public assembly or public procession in an open space —
(i)that is held primarily to commemorate the first anniversary of the death of the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew;
(ii)that is organised by or under the direction of the People’s Association;
(iii)that is held between 19 March 2016 and 31 March 2016 (both dates inclusive); and
(iv)during which the organiser provides crowd control measures that are necessary for the safety and wellbeing of persons attending the public assembly or public procession;”.
