(Licensing of Retail Pharmacies)
(Amendment) Regulations 2018
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 72 of the Health Products Act, the Health Sciences Authority, with the approval of the Minister for Health, makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Health Products (Licensing of Retail Pharmacies) (Amendment) Regulations 2018 and come into operation on 1 March 2018.
Amendment of regulation 2
2.  Regulation 2 of the Health Products (Licensing of Retail Pharmacies) Regulations 2016 (G.N. No. S 330/2016) is amended —
(a)by inserting, immediately after the definition of “Authority’s website”, the following definition:
“ “collaborative prescribing practitioner” has the same meaning as in regulation 56C(6) of the Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics Regulations (Cap. 248, Rg 1);”;
(b)by deleting paragraph (a) of the definition of “dispense” and substituting the following paragraph:
(a)a qualified practitioner or collaborative prescribing practitioner, or a person acting under the supervision of a qualified practitioner or collaborative prescribing practitioner; or”; and
(c)by deleting the words “qualified practitioner” in the definition of “retail pharmacy business” and substituting the words “qualified practitioner or collaborative prescribing practitioner”.
Amendment of regulation 3
3.  Regulation 3 of the Health Products (Licensing of Retail Pharmacies) Regulations 2016 is amended by deleting the words “qualified practitioner” wherever they appear in paragraphs (2)(a)(i) and (ii) and (3)(a) and (b) and substituting in each case the words “qualified practitioner or collaborative prescribing practitioner”.
