(Amendment No. 2) Rules 2013

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 34 and 140 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2013 and shall come into operation on 8th March 2013.

Amendment of rule 3D

2. Rule 3D of the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) Rules (R 5) (referred to in these Rules as the principal Rules) is amended —

(a)

by deleting “$20” in paragraph (7) and substituting the words “$21.40 (inclusive of GST)”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately after paragraph (7), the following paragraph:

“(7AA) The fees referred to in paragraphs (4)(b), (c) and (d), (5)(ii) and (7) shall be payable to the Authority.”.

Amendment of rule 3E

3. Rule 3E(4) of the principal Rules is amended by inserting, immediately after the word “payable”, the words “to the Authority”.

Amendment of rule 8

4. Rule 8(14) of the principal Rules is amended by deleting “$10” and substituting the words “$10.70 (inclusive of GST)”.

Amendment of rule 12B

5. Rule 12B of the principal Rules is amended by inserting, immediately after paragraph (7), the following paragraph:

“(7A) The fees referred to in paragraphs (1), (3), (4), (6) and (7) shall be payable to the Authority.”.

Amendment of rule 13

6. Rule 13 of the principal Rules is amended —

(a)	by deleting “$5” in paragraphs (2), (3) and (5) and substituting in each case the words “$5.35 (inclusive of GST)”;
(b)	by deleting “$20” in paragraph (4) and substituting the words “$21.40 (inclusive of GST)”; and
(c)	by deleting “$2” in paragraph (5) and substituting the words “$2.14 (inclusive of GST)”.

Amendment of rule 15

7. Rule 15(2) of the principal Rules is amended by deleting “$300” in sub‑paragraph (b) and substituting the words “$321 (inclusive of GST)”.

Amendment of rule 16

8. Rule 16 of the principal Rules is amended —

(a)	by deleting “$20” in paragraphs (4), (10)(a)(ii), (13) and (15)(b) and substituting in each case the words “$21.40 (inclusive of GST)”; and
(b)	by deleting “$300” in paragraph (8)(b) and substituting the words “$321 (inclusive of GST)”.

Amendment of rule 16A

9. Rule 16A(2) of the principal Rules is amended by deleting “$300” in sub‑paragraph (b) and substituting the words “$321 (inclusive of GST)”.

Deletion of rule 23

10. Rule 23 of the principal Rules is deleted.

Amendment of rule 34A

11. Rule 34A of the principal Rules is amended by deleting “$25” in paragraphs (3C)(b) and (7) and substituting in each case the words “$26.75 (inclusive of GST)”.

Amendment of rule 34B

12. Rule 34B(10) of the principal Rules is amended —

(a)	by deleting “$250” in sub‑paragraph (b)(i) and substituting the words “$267.50 (inclusive of GST)”; and
(b)	by deleting “$100” in sub‑paragraph (b)(ii) and substituting the words “$107 (inclusive of GST)”.

Amendment of rule 34C

13. Rule 34C(10) of the principal Rules is amended —

(a)	by deleting “$250” in sub‑paragraph (b)(i)(A) and substituting the words “$267.50 (inclusive of GST)”;
(b)	by deleting “$500” in sub‑paragraph (b)(i)(B) and substituting the words “$535 (inclusive of GST)”; and
(c)	by deleting “$100” in sub‑paragraph (b)(ii) and substituting the words “$107 (inclusive of GST)”.

Amendment of rule 51

14. Rule 51(2) of the principal Rules is amended by deleting “$10” and substituting the words “$10.70 (inclusive of GST)”.

Amendment of rule 53

15. Rule 53(9) of the principal Rules is amended by deleting “$5” and substituting the words “$5.35 (inclusive of GST)”.

Amendment of rule 64B

16. Rule 64B(1) of the principal Rules is amended by deleting “$15” in sub‑paragraph (a) and substituting the words “$16.05 (inclusive of GST)”.

Amendment of First Schedule

17. The First Schedule to the principal Rules is amended by inserting, immediately after the word “PAID” in the headings to Parts IA, IB and IC, the words “TO THE AUTHORITY”.

Miscellaneous amendments

18. The principal Rules are amended by deleting “$20” in the following provisions and substituting in each case the words “$21.40 (inclusive of GST)”:

Rules 3F(1), 9B(9)(c), 22(3)(c) and (d), (7)(a)(ii) and (9)(b) and 68(2).
