Control of Plants ( Plant Importation )
(Amendment) Rules 1998

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 46 of the Control of Plants Act, the Minister for National Development hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Control of Plants (Plant Importation) (Amendment) Rules 1998 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1998.

Deletion and substitution of Fifth Schedule

2. The Fifth Schedule to the Control of Plants (Plant Importation) Rules (R 4) is deleted and the following Schedule substituted therefor:

“FIFTH SCHEDULE

(1)	Inspection and certification of plants, plant products or fresh cut flowers

(a)	Non-commercial $12 per consignment for the following:

(i)	Plants not exceeding 10 numbers or flasks;

(ii)	Plant products not exceeding 5 kg;

(iii)

Fresh cut flowers not exceeding 24 stalks or numbers.

(b)	Commercial $50 per consignment for the following:

(i)	Plants exceeding 10 numbers or flasks;

(ii)	Plant products exceeding 5 kg;

(iii)

Fresh cut flowers exceeding 24 stalks or numbers.

(2)	Laboratory examination of flowers, plants or plant products for any pest or pathogen

$44 per pest examination.

(3)	Permit to import plants, insects or micro-organisms

$18 per consignment.

(4)	Professional service fee

(a)	$60 per hour or part thereof;

(b)	$133 per hour or part thereof (outside office hours or on an urgent basis).

(5)	Technical service fee

(a)	$36 per hour or part thereof;

(b)	$80 per hour or part thereof (outside office hours or on an urgent basis).
