Town Council of Aljunied (Conservancy and Service Charges) (Amendment) By-laws 2003

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 24(1) of the Town Council Act, the Town Council for the Town of Aljunied hereby makes the following By-laws:

Citation and commencement

1. These By-laws may be cited as the Town Council of Aljunied (Conservancy and Service Charges) (Amendment) By-laws 2003 and shall come into operation on the 1st April 2003.

Deletion and substitution of by-law 3

2. By-law 3 of the Town Council of Aljunied (Conservancy and Service Charges) By-laws 2002 (G.N. No. S 108/2002) is deleted and the following by-law substituted therefor:

“Goods and services tax

3. The conservancy and service charges specified in the Schedule are inclusive of the goods and services tax chargeable under the Goods and Services Tax Act (Cap. 117A) on the services in respect of which such conservancy and service charges are payable.”.

Amendment of Schedule

3. The Schedule to the Town Council of Aljunied (Conservancy and Service Charges) By-laws 2002 is amended —

(a)

by deleting items 6 to 14 and substituting the following items:

“

6.	Executive apartment or maisonette

7.	HUDC apartment or maisonette

8.	Shop with living accommodation

$1.49 per square metre of the area of the shop subject to a minimum of $48.88 in addition to the following conservancy and service charges of the equivalent room type:

(a)	1-room flat

$19.24

(b)	2-room flat

$27.56

(c)	3-room flat

$37.44

(d)	4-room flat

$49.92

(e)	5-room flat

$61.88

9.	Shop without living accommodation

$1.49 per square metre of the area of the shop subject to a minimum of $48.88.

10.	Kiosk or shoplet

$1.49 per square metre of the area of the premises subject to a minimum of $48.88.

11.	Other commercial property

$1.49 per square metre of the area of the property subject to a minimum of $48.88.

12.	Privately-operated child care centre

$1.49 per square metre of the area of the premises subject to a minimum of $48.88.

13.—(1)

Stall —

(a)	Cooked food stall

$124.80 per 10 square metres of the stall area or part thereof.

(b)	Fruit, preserved and dried goods, fresh fish and seafood, meat or poultry stall

$62.40 per 10 square metres of the stall area or part thereof.

(c)	Vegetable, bean curd and noodle, egg, ground assorted spices or miscellaneous stall

$38.48 per 10 square metres of the stall area or part thereof.

(d)	Piece and sundry stall

$67.60 per 10 square metres of the stall area or part thereof.

(2)	2 or more stalls with total area exceeding 10 square metres allotted to a stallholder.

Charges for each additional stall be double the conservancy and service charges for the first stall allotted to the stallholder set out in paragraph (1).

14.	Neighbourhood Police Post

94 cents per square metre of the area of the premises subject to a minimum of $48.88.

”

(b)

by deleting the words “items 1 to 4” in paragraphs (1) and (2) under the heading “Note” and substituting in each case the words “items 1 to 7”.
