Slaughter-houses (Fees) Rules 1998

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the Slaughter-houses and Meat Processing Factories Act, the Minister for National Development hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Slaughter-houses (Fees) Rules 1998 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1998.

Fees

2. There shall be leviable at the office of the Director of Primary Production the following fees:

(a)	for a poultry slaughter-house licence

$840 per annum

(b)	for a new livestock slaughter-house licence

$4,000 per annum

(c)	for renewal of a livestock slaughter-house licence

$1,500 per annum

(d)	for a licence to slaughter sheep, goats or pigs other than at a licensed slaughter-house

$25 per licence plus a fee of $6 per animal slaughtered.

Additional fee

3. Owners of pigs, sheep, goats and cattle slaughtered at a slaughter-house shall pay to the licensee of the slaughter-house, who will collect on behalf of the Director of Primary Production, a fee of $1.10 for each animal inspected by officers of the Primary Production Department.

Revocation

4. The Slaughter-houses (Fees) Rules (R 3) are revoked.
