Nurses and Midwives
(Amendment) Regulations 2013

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 32(8) and 44 of the Nurses and Midwives Act, the Singapore Nursing Board, with the approval of the Minister for Health, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Nurses and Midwives (Amendment) Regulations 2013 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2013.

Amendment of regulation 8

2. Regulation 8(1) of the Nurses and Midwives Regulations 2012 (G.N. No. S 119/2012) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “in Form 1” and substituting the words “in the form set out at the Board’s Internet website at http://www.snb.gov.sg”; and

(b)

by deleting sub-paragraph (f) and substituting the following sub-paragraph:

“(f)	if the applicant has completed a course referred to in section 14(1)(a)(ii), (2)(a)(ii) or (3)(a)(ii) of the Act but not a course referred to in section 14(1)(a)(i), (2)(a)(i) or (3)(a)(i) of the Act, evidence of a firm offer of employment as a nurse or midwife, as the case may be; and”.

Amendment of regulation 9

3. Regulation 9(1) of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting the words “in Form 2” and substituting the words “in the form set out at the Board’s Internet website at http://www.snb.gov.sg”.

Amendment of regulation 19

4. Regulation 19 of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting paragraphs (1) and (2) and substituting the following paragraphs:

“(1) An application for a practising certificate or its renewal shall be made in the form set out at the Board’s Internet website at http://www.snb.gov.sg.

(2) Every application for a practising certificate shall be accompanied by the applicable fee specified in the Second Schedule and such other information, statement or document as the Registrar may require.”.

Amendment of regulation 27

5. Regulation 27(2) of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting the words “in Form 4”.

Amendment of regulation 37

6. Regulation 37(2) of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting the words “in Form 4”.

Amendment of regulation 47

7. Regulation 47(1) of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting sub-paragraph (a) and substituting the following sub-paragraph:

“(a)	shall be made in the form set out at the Board’s Internet website at http://www.snb.gov.sg;”.

Amendment of Second Schedule

8. Item 1 of the Second Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting “19(1)” in the Schedule reference and substituting “19(2)”;
(b)	by deleting “$160” in the second column of paragraph (1)(b) and substituting “$200”;
(c)	by deleting “$40” in the second column of paragraph (2)(a)(ii) and (b)(ii) and substituting in each case “$55”;
(d)	by deleting “$40” in the second column of paragraph (3)(b) and substituting “$50”;
(e)	by deleting “$35” in the second column of paragraph (11) and substituting “$40”;
(f)	by deleting “$45” in the second column of paragraph (12) and substituting “$55”;
(g)	by deleting “$700” in the second column of paragraph (13)(a) and substituting “$1,000”;
(h)	by deleting “$350” in the second column of paragraph (13)(b) and substituting “$700”;
(i)	by deleting “$500” in the second column of paragraph (14)(a) and substituting “$650”; and
(j)	by deleting “$300” in the second column of paragraph (14)(b) and substituting “$400”.

Amendment of Third Schedule

9. The Third Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended by deleting Forms 1 to 6.
