Land Surveyors Act
(Chapter 156)
Land Surveyors Rules 2000
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 40 of the Land Surveyors Act, the Land Surveyors Board, with the approval of the Minister for Law, hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Land Surveyors Rules 2000 and shall come into operation on 15th April 2000.
PART I
REGISTRATION OF SURVEYORS
Form of application
2.—(1)  An application for registration as a registered surveyor under section 12 of the Act shall be in Form 1 in the First Schedule.
(2)  An application for registration under section 12(1)(a) of the Act shall be accompanied by —
(a)evidence in writing as to age and good character of the applicant; and
(b)a copy of the certificate of competency issued to the applicant under these Rules or the Land Surveyors Rules (R 1) revoked by these Rules.
(3)  An application for registration under section 12(1)(b) of the Act shall be accompanied by —
(a)evidence in writing that the applicant has passed any professional examination set out in the Second Schedule;
(b)evidence in writing as to age and good character of the applicant; and
(c)evidence in writing of practical experience in surveying in Singapore.
(4)  An application for registration under section 12(1)(c) of the Act shall be accompanied by —
(a)evidence in writing as to age and good character of the applicant; and
(b)evidence in writing of practical experience in surveying in Singapore.
Registration fee
3.  Every application for registration as a registered surveyor under section 12 of the Act shall be accompanied by a fee of $100.
Professional examinations and practical experience
4.  For the purpose of section 12(1)(b) of the Act —
(a)the professional examinations recognised by the Board are as set out in the Second Schedule;
(b)the further examination shall be the examination conducted by the Board specified in rule 27(2); and
(c)the practical experience in surveying shall comprise practical experience in surveying activities in Singapore at a professional level for not less than one year, obtained after the applicant has passed the professional examination referred to in paragraph (a).
Certificate of registration
5.—(1)  A registered surveyor shall, on payment of a fee of $100, be issued a certificate of registration duly signed by the Registrar.
(2)  The certificate of registration shall be in Form 2 in the First Schedule.
Register of surveyors
6.  The register of surveyors shall be in the form and shall contain the particulars in Form 3 in the First Schedule.
Removal from register of surveyors
7.  An application by a registered surveyor under section 26(2) of the Act to have his name removed from the register of surveyors shall be in Form 4 in the First Schedule.
