Fisheries (Fishing Gear)
(Amendment) Rules 2019

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 27 of the Fisheries Act, the Minister for National Development makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Fisheries (Fishing Gear) (Amendment) Rules 2019 and come into operation on 1 April 2019.

Miscellaneous amendments

2. The Fisheries (Fishing Gear) Rules (R 6) are amended —

(a)

by deleting the word “Director” wherever it appears in the following provisions and substituting in each case the word “Director‑General”:

Rule 4(1), (4) and (5)

Rule 5

Rule 6

Rule 9

Rule 10(1) and (2)

Rule 11

Rule 12; and

(b)

by deleting the marginal note to rule 10 and inserting the following rule heading:

“Director-General’s discretion”.
