(Chapter 329A)
Town Council of Marine Parade (Conservancy and Service Charges) (Amendment) By-laws 2004
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 24(1) of the Town Councils Act, the Town Council for the Town of Marine Parade hereby makes the following By-laws:
Citation and commencement
1.  These By-laws may be cited as the Town Council of Marine Parade (Conservancy and Service Charges) (Amendment) By-laws 2004 and shall come into operation on 15th January 2004.
Deletion and substitution of by-law 3
2.  By-law 3 of the Town Council of Marine Parade (Conservancy and Service Charges) By-laws (By 53) is deleted and the following by-law substituted therefor:
“Goods and services tax
3.  The conservancy and service charges specified in the Schedule are inclusive of the goods and services tax chargeable under the Goods and Services Tax Act (Cap. 117A) on the services in respect of which such conservancy and service charges are payable.”.
Amendment of Schedule
3.  The Schedule to the Town Council of Marine Parade (Conservancy and Service Charges) By-laws is amended by deleting items 9 to 14 and substituting the following items:
“
9. Shop with living accommodation, kiosk or shoplet
 
$1.50 per square metre of the area of the premises subject to a minimum of $52.50.
 
 
 
10. Shop with living accommodation, kiosk or shoplet
 
$1.50 per square metre of the area of the premises subject to a minimum of $52.50 in addition to the following conservancy and service charges for the equivalent room type:
(a) 1-room flat
 
$19.43.
(b) 2-room flat
 
$27.83.
(c) 3-room flat
 
$38.85.
(d) 4-room flat
 
$50.93.
(e) 5-room flat
 
$63.00.
(f) Executive apartment
or maisonette
 
$78.75.
(g) Multi-generation
(All types)
 
$83.48.
(h) HUDC flat or maisonette
 
$102.90.
 
 
 
11. Other commercial property
 
$1.50 per square metre of the area of the property subject to a minimum of $52.50.
 
 
 
12.—(1)  Stall:
 
 
(a) Cooked food stall
 
$131.25 for every 10 square metres of the area of the stall or part thereof.
(b) Fruit, preserved and
dried goods, fresh fish and seafood, meat or poultry stall
 
$63.00 for every 10 square metres of the area of the stall or part thereof.
(c) Vegetable, bean curd
and noodle, egg, ground assorted spices or miscellaneous stall
 
$38.85 for every 10 square metres of the area of the stall or part thereof.
(d) Piece and sundry stall
 
$75.60 for every 10 square metres of the area of the stall or part thereof.
(2)  2 or more stalls with total
area exceeding 10 square metres allotted to a stall-holder
 
Charges for each additional stall shall be double the conservancy and service charges for the first stall allotted to the stall-holder set out in paragraph (1).
 
 
 
13. Shop in complex with
air-conditioning
 
$9.77 per square metre of the area of the shop or part thereof.
 
 
 
14. Shop in complex with no
air-conditioning
 
$4.31 per square metre of the area of the shop or part thereof.
 
 
 
15. Office in complex with
air-conditioning
 
$9.24 per square metre of the area of the premises or part thereof.
