Customs (Duties) (Exemption) (Amendment No. 2) Order 2008

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 13(1) of the Customs Act, the Minister for Finance hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Customs (Duties) (Exemption) (Amendment No. 2) Order 2008 and shall come into operation on 2nd May 2008.

Amendment of Schedule

2. Part I of the Schedule to the Customs (Duties) (Exemption) Order (O 5) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “, “pocket” motor cycles and children’s motor cars” in column (3) of item 35 and substituting the words “and “pocket” motor cycles”;

(b)

by deleting the words “and are registered as such by the Registrar of Vehicles” in paragraph (a) in column (4) of item 35; and

(c)

by deleting item 36 and substituting the following item:

“

36.

Importer.

Chassis fitted with engines and bodies (including cabs) of golf cars and go-karts.

(a) That such parts are meant for golf cars and go-karts that are not for use on public roads; and

(b) subject to the production of a certificate in such form as the Director-General shall direct.
