Public Service (Personnel Boards and Appeals
Board) (Amendment) Regulations 1998

In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 110D(7) of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore, the President hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Public Service (Personnel Boards and Appeals Board) (Amendment) Regulations 1998 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st April 1998.

Amendment of regulation 2

2. Regulation 2 of the Public Service (Personnel Boards and Appeals Board) Regulations (Rg 3) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the definition of “Commission” and substituting the following definition:

“ “Commission” means the Public Service Commission;”; and

(b)

by deleting the definitions of “ “Police Service” and “Civil Defence Service” ”.

Deletion and substitution of regulation 15

3. The principal Regulations are amended by deleting regulation 15 and substituting the following regulation:

“Commission to consider appeals against Special Personnel Board’s determinations

15. The Commission shall consider appeals against the determinations of the Special Personnel Board.”.

Amendment of regulation 23

4. Regulation 23(1) of the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting the dash and sub-paragraphs (a), (b) and (c) and substituting the words “the Commission”; and
(b)	by deleting the word “Commissions” in the marginal note and substituting the word “Commission”.

Miscellaneous amendments to regulations 18, 19, 21, 24 and 25

5.—(1) The principal Regulations are amended by deleting the words “a Commission” wherever they appear in regulations 18(1), 19(1), 21(3), 24 and 25 and substituting in each case the words “the Commission”.

(2) The principal Regulations are amended by deleting the words “A Commission” wherever they appear in regulations 18(3) and 21(2) and (4) and substituting in each case the words “The Commission”.

(3) The principal Regulations are amended by deleting the words “the relevant Commission” wherever they appear in regulations 19(2)(b) and 21(1) and substituting in each case the words “the Commission”.

(4) The principal Regulations are amended by deleting the word “Commissions” in the marginal note of regulation 19 and substituting the word “Commission”.
