Public Service (Special and Senior Personnel Boards) (Amendment No. 2) Order 1998

Constitution of the Republic of Singapore

In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 110D(1), (2) and (4) of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore, the President hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Public Service (Special and Senior Personnel Boards) (Amendment No. 2) Order 1998.

(2) Paragraphs 2(a), 3, 4(a), 5(a) and 6(a) of this Order shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st April 1998.

(3) Paragraphs 2(b) and 6(b) of this Order shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st April 1997.

(4) Paragraphs 2(c) and 4(b) of this Order shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st September 1995.

(5) Paragraphs 2(d) and 5(b) of this Order shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st July 1996.

Amendment of paragraph 2

2. The definition of “General Services” in paragraph 2(1) of the Public Service (Special and Senior Personnel Boards) Order (O 2) (referred to in this Order as the principal Order) is amended —

(a)

by deleting paragraph (i) and substituting the following paragraph:

“(i)	the Singapore Immigration & Registration Senior Service;”;

(b)

by deleting paragraph (k);

(c)

by deleting paragraph (l); and

(d)

by deleting paragraph (q).

Amendment of paragraph 5

3. Paragraph 5(1) of the principal Order is amended by deleting the words “, the Education Service Commission or the Police and Civil Defence Services Commission, as the case may be,” in the third to sixth lines of sub-paragraph (c).

Amendment of item 4 in Schedule

4. Item 4 in the Schedule to the principal Order is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “Ministry of Labour” in paragraph (a) in the second column and substituting the words “Ministry of Manpower”; and
(b)	by deleting sub-paragraph (iv) in paragraph (b) in the second column.

Amendment of item 5 in Schedule

5. Item 5 in the Schedule to the principal Order is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “Ministry of Labour” in paragraph (c) in the second column and substituting the words “Ministry of Manpower”; and
(b)	by deleting sub-paragraph (ii) in paragraph (d) in the second column.

Amendment of item 7 in Schedule

6. Item 7 in the Schedule to the principal Order is amended —

(a)

by deleting sub-paragraph (ii) in paragraph (c) in the second column and substituting the following sub-paragraph:

“(ii)

the Singapore Immigration & Registration Senior Service;”; and

(b)

by deleting sub-paragraph (iii) in paragraph (c) in the second column.
