Public Service (Personnel Boards)
(Amendment) Order 1998

In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 110D(1), (2) and (4) of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore, the President hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Public Service (Personnel Boards) (Amendment) Order 1998.

(2) Paragraphs 2(a) and (e), 3, 4(b) and 5 of this Order shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st April 1998.

(3) Paragraphs 2(b), 7, 8 and 9 of this Order shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st April 1997.

(4) Paragraphs 2(c) and 4(a) of this Order shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st September 1995.

(5) Paragraphs 2(d) and 6 of this Order shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st July 1996.

Amendment of paragraph 2

2. The definition of “General Services” in paragraph 2(1) of the Public Service (Personnel Boards) Order (O 3) (referred to in this Order as the principal Order) is amended —

(a)

by deleting paragraph (e) and substituting the following paragraphs:

“(e)	the Singapore Immigration & Registration Junior Service;
(f)	the Singapore Immigration & Registration Senior Service;”;

(b)

by deleting paragraphs (f) and (p);

(c)

by deleting paragraph (g);

(d)

by deleting paragraph (k); and

(e)

by deleting paragraph (m).

Amendment of item 13 in Schedule

3. Item 13 in the Schedule to the principal Order is amended by deleting the words “Immigration (Subordinate) Service” in paragraph (a) in the second column and substituting the words “Singapore Immigration & Registration Junior Service or Singapore Immigration & Registration Senior Service”.

Amendment of item 15 in Schedule

4. Item 15 in the Schedule to the principal Order is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “Library Technician Service or” in paragraph (a) in the second column; and
(b)	by deleting paragraph (a) in the second column.

Amendment of item 16 in Schedule

5. Item 16 in the Schedule to the principal Order is amended by deleting the words “Ministry of Labour” in the first and second columns and substituting in each case the words “Ministry of Manpower”.

Amendment of item 18 in Schedule

6. Item 18 in the Schedule to the principal Order is amended by deleting paragraph (a) in the second column.

Amendment of item 19 in Schedule

7. Item 19 in the Schedule to the principal Order is amended by deleting the words “or Statistical (Assistant) Service” in paragraph (a) in the second column.

Amendment of item 23 in Schedule

8. Item 23 in the Schedule to the principal Order is amended by deleting the words “in the Legal Assistant Service or” in paragraph (a) in the second column.

Amendment of item 24 in Schedule

9. Item 24 in the Schedule to the principal Order is amended by deleting paragraph (a) in the second column.
