(Detention and Imprisonment)
(Amendment) Regulations 2023

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 205 of the Singapore Armed Forces Act 1972, the Armed Forces Council makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) These Regulations are the Singapore Armed Forces (Detention and Imprisonment) (Amendment) Regulations 2023 and, except for regulation 5, come into operation on 30 April 2023.

(2) Regulation 5 is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Amendment of regulation 13

2. In the Singapore Armed Forces (Detention and Imprisonment) Regulations (Rg 3) (called in these Regulations the principal Regulations), in regulation 13(d) —

(a)	delete “work or”; and
(b)	delete “work and”.

Amendment of regulation 32

3. In the principal Regulations, in regulation 32 —

(a)	in the regulation heading, delete “and work”;
(b)	in paragraphs (1) and (3), delete “or work” wherever it appears;
(c)	in paragraph (2), delete “and work”; and
(d)	in paragraph (3)(b), delete “work or”.

Amendment of regulation 41

4. In the principal Regulations, in regulation 41(e), delete “or place of work”.

Miscellaneous amendments

5. In the principal Regulations —

(a)	in regulation 21(6), replace “(Cap. 137)” with “1976”;
(b)	in regulation 47(1) and (2)(a), replace “section 118 (15)” with “section 118(16)”; and
(c)	in regulation 56(2), replace “(Cap. 247)” with “1933”.
