(Amendment) Regulations 2023

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 205 of the Singapore Armed Forces Act 1972, the Armed Forces Council makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) These Regulations are the Singapore Armed Forces (Disciplinary Barracks) (Amendment) Regulations 2023 and, except for regulation 5, come into operation on 30 April 2023.

(2) Regulation 5 is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Amendment of regulation 8

2. In the Singapore Armed Forces (Disciplinary Barracks) Regulations (Rg 8) (called in these Regulations the principal Regulations), in regulation 8(c), delete “work or” wherever it appears.

Amendment of regulation 18

3. In the principal Regulations, in regulation 18 —

(a)	in the regulation heading, replace “and work” with “, etc.,”;
(b)	in paragraphs (1), (2), (3) and (4), delete “or work” wherever it appears; and
(c)	in paragraph (5), replace “light work” with “drills”.

Amendment of regulation 23

4. In the principal Regulations, in regulation 23 —

(a)	in paragraphs (1)(b) and 2, delete “work and”;
(b)	in paragraph (2)(a), insert “and” at the end;
(c)	in paragraph (2), delete sub‑paragraph (b); and
(d)	in paragraph (4), delete sub‑paragraphs (g), (h) and (m).

Miscellaneous amendments

5. In the principal Regulations, in the following provisions, replace “section 118 (15)” with “section 118(16)”:

Regulation 26(1), (3) and (4)

Regulation 27(1) and (3)(a).
