Interpretation Act 1965
Interpretation (Delegation of Powers —
Ministry of Law) (Amendment) Notification 2023
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 36(1) of the Interpretation Act 1965, the Minister for Law, with the approval of the President, makes the following Notification:
Citation and commencement
1.—(1)  This Notification is the Interpretation (Delegation of Powers — Ministry of Law) (Amendment) Notification 2023.
(2)  Paragraph 3(b) is deemed to have come into operation on 21 November 2021.
(3)  Paragraph 3(c), (d) and (e) is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.
(4)  Paragraphs 2 and 3(a) come into operation on 12 May 2023.
New paragraph 1A
2.  In the Interpretation (Delegation of Powers — Ministry of Law) Notification 2012 (G.N. No. S 550/2012), after paragraph 1, insert —
Delegation of powers to Second Minister
1A.  The Minister for Law deputes the Second Minister for Law to exercise the powers of the Minister under —
(a)section 26 of the Land Acquisition Act 1966; and
(b)section 4 of the Land Surveyors Act 1991.”.
Amendment of paragraph 2
3.  In the Interpretation (Delegation of Powers — Ministry of Law) Notification 2012, in paragraph (2) —
(a)replace the paragraph heading with —
Delegation of powers to Senior Minister of State”;
(b)delete sub‑paragraph (a);
(c)in sub‑paragraph (b), replace “(Cap. 68)” with “2010”;
(d)in sub‑paragraph (c), replace “(Cap. 152)” with “1966”; and
(e)in sub‑paragraph (d), replace “(Cap. 156)” with “1991”.
