Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics
(Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2021

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 22 of the Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics Act, the Minister for Health makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2021 and come into operation on 1 May 2021.

Amendment of Second Schedule

2. The Second Schedule to the Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics Regulations (Rg 1) is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately after the word “services” in item 2, the words “, excluding pre‑implantation genetic testing services”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately after item 2, the following item:

“2A. The following testing services:

(a)	pre‑implantation genetic testing for monogenic or single gene defects;
(b)	pre‑implantation genetic testing for chromosomal structural rearrangements.”.

Amendment of Third Schedule

3. The Third Schedule to the Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics Regulations is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately after the word “services” in item 4, the words “, excluding pre‑implantation genetic testing services”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately after item 4, the following item:

“4A. The following testing services:

(a)	pre‑implantation genetic testing for monogenic or single gene defects;
(b)	pre‑implantation genetic testing for chromosomal structural rearrangements.”.
