(CHAPTER 276)

Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Test) (Amendment) Rules 1999

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 90 of the Road Traffic Act, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Test) (Amendment) Rules 1999 and shall come into operation on 1st July 1999.

Amendment of First Schedule

2. The First Schedule to the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Test) Rules (R 21) is amended by deleting paragraph (j) and substituting the following paragraph:

“(j)	the requirements of rules 35, 37, 38, 40 and 106 of the Rules in so far as they relate to exhaust emissions or the exhaust system;”.

Amendment of Third Schedule

3. Part IX of the Third Schedule to the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Test) Rules is amended by deleting paragraph 22 and substituting the following paragraph:

“22. The vehicle shall be examined to ascertain whether it conforms to the standard prescribed for in-use vehicles under the Fifth Schedule to the Environmental Pollution Control (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations 1999 (G.N. No. S 291/99).”.
