Public Entertainments and Meetings (Demerit Points) (Amendment) Rules 2002

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 15 and 23(1) of the Public Entertainments and Meetings Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Public Entertainments and Meetings (Demerit Points) (Amendment) Rules 2002 and shall come into operation on 1st July 2002.

Amendment of rule 2

2. Rule 2 of the Public Entertainments and Meetings (Demerit Points) Rules (R 2, 2002 Ed.) is amended by inserting, immediately after the words “public entertainment” in paragraph (a) of the definition of “licence”, the words “(not being arts entertainment as defined in the Schedule to the Act)”.

Amendment of Schedule

3. The Schedule to the Public Entertainments and Meetings (Demerit Points) Rules is amended by deleting Part XII.
