Land Surveyors (Conduct of Cadastral Surveys) (Amendment) Rules 2001
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 40 of the Land Surveyors Act, the Land Surveyors Board, with the approval of the Minister for Law, hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Land Surveyors (Conduct of Cadastral Surveys) (Amendment) Rules 2001 and shall come into operation on 1st June 2001.
Amendment of rule 5
2.  Rule 5 of the Land Surveyors (Conduct of Cadastral Surveys) Rules 2000 (G.N. No. S 78/2000) (referred to in these Rules as the principal Rules) is amended —
(a)by deleting sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph (1) and substituting the following sub-paragraph:
(a)consulting the records of the Singapore Land Authority, or of any other registered surveyor or other authorities if he is so directed by the Singapore Land Authority; and”; and
(b)by deleting the words “Singapore Land Registry” in the 2nd line of paragraph (2)(b) and substituting the words “Singapore Land Authority”.
Deletion and substitution of rule 7
3.  Rule 7 of the principal Rules is deleted and the following rule substituted therefor:
Compliance with requirements
7.  A registered surveyor shall, before carrying out work on any cadastral survey, check that the proposed cadastral survey is in accordance with all requirements of the Singapore Land Authority and other relevant authorities.”.
Miscellaneous amendments
4.  The principal Rules are amended by deleting the words “Survey Department” in the following rules and substituting in each case the words “Singapore Land Authority”:
Rules 13(16) and (17), 20, 30, 39, 41, 44(c), 56, 58, 60(f) and 62(f).
