(Singapore T100 — Exemption)
Order 2024
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act 1961, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:
Citation and period in force
1.—(1)  This Order is the Road Traffic (Singapore T100 — Exemption) Order 2024.
(2)  This Order is in force on 13 April 2024 and 14 April 2024.
Definitions
2.  In this Order —
“specified event” means the Singapore T100 event organised by Tribob.com Pte. Ltd. (UEN 200312749K) to be held on 13 April 2024 and 14 April 2024;
“specified motor cycle” means a motor cycle bearing any of the following vehicle registration numbers:
(a)PJ70RFZ;
(b)PJ70VHG;
(c)PJ70RFY;
“specified road” means any of the roads delineated by the black‑coloured lines in the map set out in the Schedule.
Exemption for driving specified motor cycle
3.  An individual who drives a specified motor cycle on a specified road during and for the purpose of the specified event is exempt from section 73 of the Act (insofar as it relates to the requirement that a driver of a two‑wheeled motor cycle must not carry any person otherwise than sitting astride the motor cycle) under the following conditions:
(a)the individual is authorised by Tribob.com Pte. Ltd. to drive the specified motor cycle;
(b)the individual who drives the specified motor cycle possesses a valid driving licence granted under the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Driving Licences) Rules (R 27) authorising the individual to drive the class of motor vehicles that the specified motor cycle belongs to;
(c)there is in force, at any time the specified motor cycle is driven during and for the purpose of the specified event, a policy of insurance in relation to the specified motor cycle insuring against any liability in respect of —
(i)the death of or bodily injury sustained by any person (other than the driver or any pillion rider of the specified motor cycle); and
(ii)any property damage suffered by any person (other than the driver or any pillion rider of the specified motor cycle),
caused by or arising out of the use of the specified motor cycle;
(d)the risk under the policy of insurance mentioned in sub‑paragraph (c) is assumed by an insurer who, at the time the policy is issued, is lawfully carrying on an insurance business in Singapore.
Exemption for riding bicycle
4.  Rules 5, 6, 7, 7A, 8, 10 and 11 of the Road Traffic (Bicycles, Three‑wheeled Pedal Cycles, Trishaws and Recumbent Devices — Road Conduct) Rules (R 3) do not apply to an individual who rides a bicycle on a specified road during and for the purpose of the specified event under the following conditions:
(a)the individual is registered with Tribob.com Pte. Ltd. as a participant of the specified event;
(b)there is in force, at any time the bicycle is ridden during and for the purpose of the specified event, a policy of insurance in relation to the bicycle insuring against any liability in respect of —
(i)the death of or bodily injury sustained by any person (other than the rider of the bicycle); and
(ii)any property damage suffered by any person (other than the rider of the bicycle),
caused by or arising out of the use of the bicycle;
(c)the risk under the policy of insurance mentioned in sub‑paragraph (b) is assumed by an insurer who, at the time the policy is issued, is lawfully carrying on an insurance business in Singapore.
