Residential Property (Exemption — Transfers of HDB Shophouses) Notification 2000
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 32(1) of the Residential Property Act, the Minister for Law hereby makes the following Notification:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Notification may be cited as the Residential Property (Exemption — Transfers of HDB Shophouses) Notification 2000 and shall come into operation on 1st February 2000.
Definition
2.  For the purposes of this Notification, “HDB shophouse” means a flat that —
(a)is or has been sold or leased by the Housing and Development Board under section 24 of the Housing and Development Act (Cap. 129); and
(b)is comprised in a building —
(i)of not more than 6 levels including the ground level and any level below the ground;
(ii)which is approved by the competent authority under the Planning Act (Cap. 232) for use as a dwelling-house and as a shop or other commercial establishment; and
(iii)which is not subdivided into 2 or more strata units.
Exemption
3.  A foreign person shall be exempted from the provisions of the Act in respect of any transfer of a HDB shophouse to him.
