Road Traffic (Carbon Emissions Tax)
(Amendment) Rules 2017

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 11AA(6) of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Road Traffic (Carbon Emissions Tax) (Amendment) Rules 2017 and come into operation on 30 June 2017.

Amendment of rule 5

2. Rule 5 of the Road Traffic (Carbon Emissions Tax) Rules 2012 (G.N. No. S 653/2012) is amended by deleting the words “30 June 2017” in paragraphs (b) and (d) and substituting in each case the words “31 December 2017”.

Amendment of Schedule

3. The Schedule to the Road Traffic (Carbon Emissions Tax) Rules 2012 is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “30 JUNE 2017” in the heading “CARBON EMISSIONS TAX PAYABLE FOR MOTOR CARS (OTHER THAN TAXIS) FIRST REGISTERED DURING PERIOD FROM 1 JULY 2015 TO 30 JUNE 2017 (BOTH DATES INCLUSIVE)” in Part 1 and substituting the words “31 DECEMBER 2017”; and
(b)	by deleting the words “30 JUNE 2017” in the heading “CARBON EMISSIONS TAX PAYABLE FOR TAXIS FIRST REGISTERED DURING PERIOD FROM 1 JULY 2015 TO 30 JUNE 2017 (BOTH DATES INCLUSIVE)” in Part 2 and substituting the words “31 DECEMBER 2017”.
