Merchant Shipping (Fees) (Amendment No. 2)
Regulations 1998

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 213 of the Merchant Shipping Act, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Communications, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and Commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Fees) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 1998 and shall come into operation on 1st July 1998.

Amendment of Schedule

2. Part II of the Schedule to the Merchant Shipping (Fees) Regulations (Rg 17) is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately after item 1, the following items:

“1A. Survey of a high-speed craft or issue of a high-speed craft safety certificate:

1B. Survey and issue of a permit to operate high-speed craft:

(a)	First issue:

$545.

(b)

Renewal:

$125.

”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately after item 13, the following item:

“14. Inspection by a surveyor of rectification of any deficiency detected in a port. State control inspection:

(a)

Inspection during office hours (between 0800 to 1700 hours (Monday to Friday) and between 0800 to 1300 hours (Saturday), except public holidays):

(i)	first hour or part thereof

$120.

(ii)	every additional 30 minutes or part thereof

$60.

(iii)

transport on land per trip, if required for purposes of the inspection

$40.

(iv)	transport by launch, if required for purposes of the inspection

As charged by the launch operator.

(b)

Inspection outside office hours or on public holidays:

(i)	first hour or part thereof

$240.

(ii)	every additional 30 minutes or part thereof

$120.

(iii)

transport on land per trip, if required for purposes of the inspection

$40.

(iv)	transport by launch, if required for purposes of the inspection,

As charged by the launch operator.
