Weights and Measures
(Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2020

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Weights and Measures Act, the Minister for Trade and Industry makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Weights and Measures (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 and come into operation on 1 May 2020.

Amendment of Schedule

2. The Schedule to the Weights and Measures (Fees) Regulations 2005 (G.N. No. S 847/2005) is amended —

(a)

by deleting items 1 and 2 and substituting the following item:

“1.	For the testing and passing by an inspector as fit for use for trade of —

(a)	every linear measuring instrument

(b)	every flow meter (other than a petrol pump measure)

$40”;

(b)

by deleting item 3 and substituting the following item:

“3.	For every report submitted by an Authorised Verifier to the Controller under section 7A(10)(b)(i) and (ii) of the Act in relation to —

(a)	every weighing instrument with weighing capacity —

(i)	not exceeding one metric ton

(ii)	exceeding one metric ton but not exceeding 30 metric tons

$25

(iii)

exceeding 30 metric tons but not exceeding 60 metric tons

$500

(iv)	exceeding 60 metric tons

$1,000

(b)	every linear measuring instrument

(c)	every liquid measuring instrument

(d)	every flow meter and petrol pump measure

$30”; and

(c)

by deleting the words “items 1 and 2” in paragraph 1 of the Note and substituting the words “item 1”.
