Employment of Foreign Workers (Levy) (Amendment No. 2) Order 1998

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 11(1) of the Employment of Foreign Workers Act, the Minister for Manpower, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Employment of Foreign Workers (Levy) (Amendment No. 2) Order 1998 and shall come into operation on 1st July 1998.

Amendment of paragraph 3

2. Paragraph 3 of the Employment of Foreign Workers (Levy) Order (O 1) is amended by inserting, immediately after sub-paragraph (24), the following sub-paragraph:

“Process industry maintenance worker with suitable academic qualifications or work experience

(24A) Notwithstanding sub-paragraphs (22), (23) and (24), the levy payable in respect of any process industry maintenance worker with suitable academic qualifications, skills, capabilities, work experience or any combination thereof, or who satisfies such other criteria as the Minister may determine, shall be —

(a)	at the rate of $330 for every calendar month; and
(b)	where any process industry maintenance worker is employed for part of a month, at the rate of $11 for each day during which the process industry maintenance worker is employed in that month.”.
