Telecommunications Act
(Chapter 323)
Telecommunication (Dealers) (Amendment) Regulations 2001
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 74 of the Telecommunications Act, the Info-communications Development Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Communications and Information Technology, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.—(1)  These Regulations may be cited as the Telecommunication (Dealers) (Amendment) Regulations 2001 and shall, with the exception of regulation 4(a), come into operation on 1st August 2001.
(2)  Regulation 4(a) shall be deemed to have come into operation on 21st January 2000.
Deletion and substitution of regulation 15
2.  Regulation 15 of the Telecommunication (Dealers) Regulations (Rg 7) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) is deleted and the following regulation substituted therefor:
Inspection of Dealer’s Individual Licence
15.  A holder of a Dealer’s Individual Licence shall permit an authorised officer or a police officer not below the rank of sergeant, upon production of proof of identity, to inspect his licence or, if it is not immediately available, require its production within a reasonable period at the office of the Authority or a police station named by the police officer.”.
Deletion and substitution of regulation 32
3.  Regulation 32 of the principal Regulations is deleted and the following regulation substituted therefor:
32.  Any person who contravenes regulation 4(1) or (4), 6(2), 12(2), 14, 15, 17, 18, 19 or 20(3) or (4) shall be guilty of an offence.”.
Amendment of First Schedule
4.  The First Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended —
(a)by deleting item 3;
(b)by deleting item 6 and substituting the following item:
6.  Radio-communication Equipment operating in frequency bands 890-915 MHz and 935-960 MHz except Cellular Mobile phones or such other equipment approved by the Authority.”; and
(c)by deleting item 7.
