(Motor Vehicles, Driving Licences)
(Amendment No. 3) Rules 2020

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 48 and 140 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Driving Licences) (Amendment No. 3) Rules 2020 and come into operation on 12 May 2020.

Amendment of rule 19

2. Rule 19 of the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Driving Licences) Rules (R 27) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the word “and” at the end of paragraph (e)(i);

(b)

by deleting the full‑stop at the end of sub‑paragraph (ii) of paragraph (e) and substituting the word “; and”, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub‑paragraph:

“(iii)

ambulances constructed and adapted to carry not more than 7 passengers (exclusive of the driver) and the weight of which unladen does not exceed 3,000 kilograms;”;

(c)

by inserting, immediately after the words “paragraph (e)(ii)” in paragraph (eb), the words “and (iii)”; and

(d)

by deleting the words “carry and load” in paragraph (h)(i) and substituting the words “carry any load”.
