Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act
(Chapter 52A)
Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) (Opt-out Practices) (Amendment) Regulations 2009
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 20 of the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act, the Minister for Trade and Industry hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) (Opt-Out Practices) (Amendment) Regulations 2009 and shall come into operation on 1st September 2009.
Amendment of regulation 7
2.  Regulation 7 of the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) (Opt-Out Practices) Regulations 2009 (G.N. No. S 67/2009) is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “and the MediShield Scheme” in paragraph (1) and substituting the words “, the MediShield Scheme and the Lifelong Income Scheme”;
(b)by inserting, immediately after the definition of “Home Protection Insurance Scheme” in paragraph (2), the following definition:
“ “Lifelong Income Scheme” means the Lifelong Income Scheme established and maintained by the Central Provident Fund Board under section 27K of the Central Provident Fund Act (Cap. 36);”; and
(c)by deleting the word “insurance” in the regulation heading.
