(Prescribed Persons)
(Amendment) Rules 2013

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 50(3A) and 180(1) of the Women’s Charter, Mr Chan Chun Sing, Senior Minister of State, charged with the responsibility of the Minister for Social and Family Development, hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Women’s Charter (Mediation and Counselling) (Prescribed Persons) (Amendment) Rules 2013 and shall come into operation on 1st July 2013.

Amendment of rule 2

2. Rule 2(1) of the Women’s Charter (Mediation and Counselling) (Prescribed Persons) Rules 2011 (G.N. No. S 535/2011) is amended by deleting sub-paragraphs (a) and (b) and substituting the following sub-paragraphs:

“(a)	the proceedings are commenced on or after 26th September 2011 but before 1st July 2013 in respect of the parties’ marriage and the parties have at least one child of the marriage who is below the age of 8 years at the time the proceedings are commenced; or
(b)	the proceedings are commenced on or after 1st July 2013 in respect of the parties’ marriage and the parties have at least one child of the marriage who is below the age of 14 years at the time the proceedings are commenced.”.
