Delegation of Powers (Ministry of Law) Notification 2001

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 36(1) of the Interpretation Act, the Minister for Law hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification may be cited as the Delegation of Powers (Ministry of Law) Notification 2001 and shall come into operation on 15th August 2001.

Delegation of powers

2. The Minister for Law, with the approval of the President, hereby deputes the Registrar of Moneylenders to exercise the powers of the Minister under section 36(2) of the Moneylenders Act (Cap. 188) to extend an exemption granted under section 36(1) of that Act on its original terms.

Amendment of Delegation of Powers (Ministry of Law) Notification 2000

3. Item 1 of the Schedule to the Delegation of Powers (Ministry of Law) Notification 2000 (G.N. No. S 550/2000) is amended by deleting paragraph (k) in the second column and substituting the following paragraph:

“(k)	Sections 4 and 36(1) of the Moneylenders Act (Cap. 188).”.
